Features 17 presentations by Somali Studies scholars, educators, activists, artists, and social service providers from the local community and beyond, beginning with Dr. Lidwien Kapteijns, Wellesley College, and addressing the history, language, and culture of the Somali People.
The workshop was presented by The Ohio State University for educators who work with Somali students and families in order to develop deeper understandings of Somali social, economic, and political perspectives to strengthen communications and help them work more effectively with Somali students and their families, in the classroom and beyond.
